We met in space: the Monitor-4 observed the StratoSat TK-1.

On June 21st, the StratoSat TK-1 satellite was imaged from the Monitor-4 small spacecraft, which was passing through the area. This event occurred due to the proximity of the StratoSat TK-1 spacecraft of Stratonavtika LLC to the Monitor-4 satellite developed in a frame of project Constellation 270, as part of the Interdisciplinary Scientific and Educational School of Moscow University "Fundamental and Applied Space Research".

The distance between the satellites was approximately 30 kilometers. In several photographs taken by Monitor-4, a bright trail is visible. Despite the fact that the onboard camera is not intended for capturing such small objects, the footage is quite clear. The simulation of the relative positions of the satellites was developed by a team of experts from the Ballistics Center at Faculty of Space Research, Moscow State University and the Astrodynamics Laboratory.

Also, during its flight the StratoSat TK-1 satellite transmitted some incredibly beautiful images of space above Antarctica and Greenland. For more information, please see: https://vk.com/wall35791758_448
