Happy Anniversary, SINP MSU!

To the Skobeltsyn Institute of Nuclear Physics of Lomonosov Moscow State University!

Dear SINP MSU!

February 1, 2026, marked the 80th anniversary of the SINP MSU – a legendary institute that has combined cutting-edge research with specialist training since its foundation.

🚀It was here in 1950 that the foundations of university space science were laid: from the discovery of Earth's outer radiation belt to the creation of the university satellites "Tatiana," "Lomonosov," and "Vernov."

🛰Today, one of the key areas of work is the development of small spacecraft.

Thus, within the frameworks of the "Constellation-270" and Space-π projects, and with the institute's participation, 20 CubeSats have been launched into orbit.
SINP is also the organizer of nationwide educational projects like the "Aerospace Engineering School" for schoolchildren and students.

🎁A gift for the anniversary was the launch in late 2025 of one of Russia's largest university satellites – "Scorpion," which has been named "SINP MSU-80."
This spacecraft reflects the connection between the institute's history and its modern priorities – scientific development and training the new generation of scientists.

📡As part of the anniversary celebrations, congratulatory signals were transmitted from the "Monitor-3" spacecraft and received by radio amateurs worldwide (pictured), including in Russia, Greece, Canada, Bali, and Argentina.
