From the lab to the real world: SINP MSU researcher Dmitry Pashkov energizes the space festival in Perm

The large-scale children's and youth festival dedicated to science and technical creativity is in full swing in Perm. One of the key events of the program is a series of hands-on workshops organized by the Foundation for Assistance to Innovation, with a special session focused on the Space-π program.

Dmitry Pashkov, a researcher at the Laboratory of Radiation Monitoring of the Skobeltsyn Institute of Nuclear Physics (SINP MSU), is sharing his expertise with young space enthusiasts. During his workshop, participants not only learn about real space infrastructure but also try their hand at engineering challenges.
What awaits visitors in the Space-π session:

· Working with the SONIX network — an introduction to a professional satellite monitoring system.
· Building a ham radio antenna — practical skills for receiving signals from orbit.
· Speed assembly of the SiriusSat-3U satellite — an opportunity to assemble a spacecraft model at a fast pace.

In addition, the organizers from the Foundation for Assistance to Innovation have prepared other exciting activities:

· a rocket building workshop;
· a lunar robot mission;
· Earth's relief analysis through space imaging.

"It's a great place to try yourself as an engineer, designer, and researcher, and to explore the world of modern science and space technology!" the organizers share.
The festival offers a unique opportunity to get hands-on with big science, and our lab's researchers are helping young talents plug into the national space program!
