Mission 16U CubeSat "Scorpion"

The "SCORPION" mission is a major scientific project aimed at implementing various space experiments. The SCORPION satellite was developed at the SINP MSU and the Nilakt DOSAAF company.

One of the Scorpion experiment is the project for an automatic biological laboratory, BIOL. Researchers of the Radiation Monitoring Lab at the SINP MSU, under the guidance of the laboratory head Vladislav Osedlo, continue their work on the scientific instruments for BIOL. This will enable the study of microorganisms in space conditions in real time.
The implementation of the BIOL program is taking place within the framework of the 16U CubeSat mission "SCORPION." The satellite is planned to be launched into a sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude of approximately 500-600 km.

The spacecraft will also be equipped with a scientific instrument developed under the leadership of Pavel Klimov, head of the laboratory for ultra-high energy cosmic rays at the SINP MSU. This instrument, known as "SONET" (System for Optical Observations of Energetic Transients), is designed to investigate the spatio-temporal structure and spectral composition of transient atmospheric phenomena.
We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to implement this incredible project:
