SSTV transmission from "MONITOR-3 (RS58S)" scheduled for April 10–13, 2026
A space postcard from the "MONITOR-3" satellite for Cosmonautics Day
In celebration of Cosmonautics Day, the small spacecraft "MONITOR-3 (RS58S)" will broadcast images using the SSTV protocol.
Important date On April 12, 1961, Yuri Gagarin completed the first orbital flight aboard Vostok-1, marking the dawn of the space age. In memory of this event, the "MONITOR-3 (RS58S)" satellite will transmit thematic images available for reception by radio amateurs worldwide.
About the satellite The "MONITOR-3" (RS58S) spacecraft was launched on June 27, 2023, from the Vostochny Cosmodrome as part of the Space-Pi program. The operator is the Skobeltsyn Institute of Nuclear Physics (SINP MSU). Its primary scientific payload is the DEKOR-2 instrument (developed at SINP MSU), designed to monitor charged particle fluxes in low Earth orbit.
