🎖️1945: The Feat That Changed the World
This year we commemorate the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War - a victory forged not only on the frontlines but also in laboratories, design bureaus, and factories.
🔧 Victory Technologies
• T-34 - the war's best tank with sloped armor (produced at 1,200 units per month!)
• Katyusha - rocket artillery systems whose principles became foundational for space rockets
• Radar and encryption - technologies that later enabled space exploration

🔬 SINP MSU and the Radiation Monitoring Laboratory: The Legacy of Victory in Space
The Skobeltsyn Institute of Nuclear Physics (SINP) of Moscow State University, established in 1946, became a bridge from wartime technologies to the stars:
🚀 Space Achievements of the Institute:
• 1949 – Creation of the first cosmic ray research group under the leadership of S.N. Vernov
• 1957-1958 – Development of the first onboard radiation detectors for satellites (including the legendary Sputnik-3)
• 1961 – Beginning of systematic radiation measurements on manned spacecraft (Vostok-1 with Yuri Gagarin)
• 1971-1999 – Equipping Soviet space stations with SINP dosimeters
• 2016– Launch of the Lomonosov satellite with a unique UV radiation
• Present days– The SINP MSU Radiation Monitoring Laboratory safeguards radiation security.
