⚛️ Staff of the Laboratory of Radiation Monitoring SINP MSU Congratulate on Physicist Day

Every year Russian scientists, teachers, students, and everyone whose life is connected with this fundamental science celebrate Physicist Day. The team of the Radiation Monitoring lab (rad-lab) at the Skobeltsyn Institute of Nuclear Physics, Lomonosov Moscow State University (SINP MSU), joins the celebration! 🎉⚛️

Physics is the foundation of our understanding of the world. From the motion of elementary particles to the evolution of galaxies, from quantum effects to cosmic rays — physics explains everything. And it is physical knowledge that underpins the work of our laboratory. 🔭📡

🛰️ Physics in action: what LRM staff do

Every day, Rad-lab specialists apply fundamental physical laws to solve applied problems:

  • 🌞 Space weather physics — studying solar flares and their impact on Earth's magnetosphere and the radiation environment in near-Earth space
  • Cosmic ray physics — analyzing charged particle fluxes coming from the depths of the Universe
  • 🛰️ Radiation physics — ensuring the safety of satellites and ISS crews, protecting electronics from radiation exposure
  • 📊 Scientific data processing — converting instrument signals into fundamental knowledge about our planet and space

👨‍🔬 Physics is the future

The laboratory not only conducts research but also nurtures a new generation of physicists. Summer internships, school projects, work with students — all of this is part of a larger mission: to pass on a love for physics and show how exciting it is to be a scientist.

Happy Physicist Day!
We wish all colleagues, students, and like-minded people brilliant discoveries, beautiful formulas, reliable instruments, and a clear sky above.
May physics always be a source of inspiration for you! ✨🔬
